Looking for Board Member from QAC

Invitation to Serve
Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board
Business Representatives Needed

The Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board (USWIB) is currently seeking business representatives from Queen Anne’s County to serve on the Board and help shape the future of our regional workforce.

USWIB serves as the region’s workforce development authority, aligning education, training, and employment programs with the needs of local employers. Representation from the business community is essential to ensuring that workforce strategies are practical, forward‑looking, and responsive to the realities facing employers throughout Queen Anne’s County.

We invite business owners and senior leaders who are interested in contributing their expertise to consider serving on the Board. Board appointments are for a three‑year term. Members play a critical role by:
  • Providing industry perspective on workforce needs
  • Participating in board meetings and committees
  • Supporting initiatives that strengthen the local and regional workforce

Meeting dates for the upcoming fiscal year are available online:

Interested individuals are asked to submit:
  • A brief biography highlighting professional background and community involvement
  • A current resume

Materials should be emailed to Ellen LaFrankie (elafrankie@chesapeake.edu). USWIB staff will follow up with interested candidates regarding board responsibilities, eligibility requirements, and the appointment process.

We appreciate the Queen Anne’s County Chamber of Commerce for sharing this opportunity and thank the local business community for its continued leadership and commitment to workforce and economic development.
