A CHRISTMAS CAROL RETURNS TO CHURCH HILL THEATRE


What began as a radio presentation during Covid has blossomed into a beloved holiday tradition. Church Hill Theatre is delighted to bring the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol, to Delmarva audiences in December. This year directed by Kat Melton and Cavin Moore, CHT promises some new twists, lively choreography and plenty of music and singing, with many performers returning to their favorite roles in this theatre-in-the-round production. Shows are on Friday, December 19 and Saturday, December 20 at 7:30 pm. There are also matinee shows on Saturday, December 20 and Sunday, December 21 at 2 pm. Ever since Charles Dickens introduced the miser Scrooge to the world in 1843, his story about the real meaning of Christmas spirit has inspired many generations. Everyone knows about the Cratchit family and their concern for sweet Tiny Tim. We may confuse the messages of Christmas Past, Present and Future, but we know the consequences are significant. And we all cherish the finale, when Scrooge himself wishes us all a Happy Christmas.
Howard Mesick narrates and traditional familiar roles are played by Oric Geist as Scrooge, David Laney as Bob Cratchit, Charlie Thomas as Fred, Athena Melton as Tiny Tim, Tori Rosati as Belle, Tom Dorman as the Ghost of Jacob Marley, Isabella Thomas as the Ghost of Christmas Past, John Perkinson as the Ghost of Christmas Present, and Steve Atkinson as the Ghost of Christmas Future. Paul Dillien and Dianne Shelton are Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig, Haley Melton is Young Belle and Trevor Ayres is Young Scrooge.
The cast also includes members of the Scrooge and Cratchit households, neighbors, figures from the past, and various Londoners. Some actors play several roles, and several are featured as singers and/or dancers. Watch for Shae Thomas, Rooney Rosati, Natalie Laney, Heather Robuck, Christy Wells, Tiffany Ayres, Jenny Weiske, Juanita Wieczoreck, Isabella McCauley, Eleanore Melton, Ryan Lockwood, Leif Laney, Aubrey Anderson, Annabelle Robuck, Emily Ceruzzi, Daphne Klocek, Debra Ebersole, Presley Mourlas, Ellie Wells, Angelina Amalfitano, and Cecilia Morris.
