  • Employer – Established in 2006, CBPS is a private outpatient mental health group practice serving children, adults, and/or families. We provide outpatient psychotherapy at our Stevensville office, by telehealth, and in local schools.
  • Job description - The QACPS school-based therapist will work primarily in Queen Anne's County Public Schools providing psychotherapy to a caseload of QACPS students. They will also work in the office when appropriate, such as when meeting with families, during the summer, or to attend staff meetings. Work hours are somewhat flexible within the constraints imposed by student/family availability and the public school system schedule. After the 2025-2026 school year, the school-based therapist position may be renewed, or the therapist may transition to a fully office-based position if desired. Please note that the advertised school-based position is a 16 hour/week position. Successful applicants seeking full-time employment will be offered a hybrid full-time therapist position (school-based, office-based, and telehealth).
  • Location/setting – The school-based therapist will work in two of Queen Anne's County's 14 public schools. Specific school(s) will be determined based on student need for services, therapist qualifications, and therapist travel time, but will likely consist of two elementary schools on Kent Island. The CBPS office is located on Kent Island, 20 minutes from Annapolis. Our sunlit, welcoming offices are within walking distance of Terrapin Park's beach and trails. If desired, some work may be conducted remotely from home, such as record-keeping or occasional teletherapy sessions.
  • Compensation - The salary range for the advertised position is $36-$45/hour depending on licensure level and experience. Note that compensation is per hour for each hour worked, not just per therapy session. Exact salary depends on grant funding and will be commensurate with education, training, licensure level, licensure type, and relevant work experience. Mileage for travel between schools and/or the CBPS office will be reimbursed at the standard mileage rate. For LMSWs, LGPCs, and/or psychology associates, clinical supervision will be provided.
  • Other benefits – Employee benefits include employer-provided professional liability insurance, retirement benefits after the first year, and professional CEU trainings. A CBPS laptop will be provided.
  • What else we do for you - Our school-based clinical coordinator and our administrative staff will support you by aiding in coordination and communication with school staff and families. Our weekly staff meetings provide opportunities for professional consultation, clinical collaboration, and collegial support. Our scheduling and EMR system saves time; staff can conveniently access the system from any smartphone.
  • Qualifications – We hire therapists with a strong sense of integrity, responsibility, and ethics who will treat diverse clients with respect and dignity. To be considered, an applicant must be licensed in Maryland as a psychologist, licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C), licensed professional counselor (LCPC), registered psychology associate, licensed masters social worker (LMSW), licensed graduate professional counselor (LGPC) or must be planning to apply for one of these license types by July. Experience working effectively with children, youth, and/or families will be considered. Applicants within a reasonable commute from our Stevensville office will be preferred over distant applicants without firm plans to relocate.
