Chesterwye Center Welcomes New CEO

Grasonville, MD – There is a new face at the helm of the Chesterwye Center, a Queen Annes County based charitable non-profit organization providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The organization welcomed new CEO, Michael Yates, on November 30, 2023. Mr. Yates has been busy ever since implementing new digital systems, engaging direct service providers, and getting to know clients.

The Board of Directors initiated the search for a new director when long-time Chesterwye Center, Inc. Executive Director Dr. Deborah Langseth retired in the summer of 2023. An interim director, Chesterwye Center Finance Director Cathy Frey, was appointed until a new director could be engaged.

Mr. Yates has been tasked with leading the organization through implementation of new industry regulations and undertaking numerous renovations to their residential program homes. Current residences require adapting home floorplans and amenities to the needs of an aging population and increased medical accommodations.

The Chesterwye Center, Inc. has been serving the Eastern Shore disability community since 1967. The organization assists individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in pursuing community employment, independent living, and meaningful relationships in their community.
