We are currently seeking on-call part-time/full-time dedicated and empathetic Personal Support Workers (PSW) to join our growing team.
Job Description:
As a Personal Support Worker at Abay Services, you will provide essential support to children and adults with disabilities in a variety of settings. Your role will involve assisting children and adults in daily activities and promoting their well-being. Your role will include assisting children and adults, fostering independence, and promoting well- being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist children and adults with disabilities in personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Help clients with mobility and physical activities, including transfers and walking assistance
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and nurturing environment
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary needs are met
- Support clients in engaging in social and recreational activities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
- Document and report daily routine and any significant changes in clients’ conditions or behaviors
- Collaborate with family members, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children and adults with disabilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with clients and their families
- Patience, Empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children and adults with needs
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations related to caregiving
- CPR and First Aid certification is a requirement
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
