About Us

Established in 1980, the Mid-Shore Council on Family Violence (MSCFV) has been a cornerstone of support and advocacy for individuals experiencing domestic violence across the eastern shore. For more than four decades, MSCFV has provided critical, life-changing services to thousands of clients, offering safety, stability, and hope to those in crisis. Each year, our hotline receives over 600 calls, reflecting the ongoing and growing need for accessible, compassionate assistance.

A hallmark of our approach is the innovative GIS mapping technology we employ to assist clients in identifying a safe, long-term solution known as the Chesapeake Crisis to Self Sufficiency Model. This tool enables our team to evaluate housing options not only for safety and affordability, but also for proximity to vital resources—including employment opportunities, transportation, grocery stores, and other everyday needs. By integrating technology with trauma-informed advocacy, MSCFV ensures that each client receives a holistic plan tailored to their circumstances and long-term success.

Through steadfast commitment, innovation, and collaboration, MSCFV continues to serve as a trusted leader in fostering safety, empowerment, and resilience throughout the Mid-Shore region. Our mission remains clear: to help individuals and families move from crisis to confidence, ensuring that every person we serve has the opportunity to live free from violence and fear.
